SPEECH IMPEDIMENT

In listening to popular singers of today, I sometimes wonder whether I am having a loss of hearing. For certain it's no lack of volume from the background bands, but what about the words of the singer? One cannot even read the lips of the singers, as the mouth is hidden by a microphone. Words are still words, no matter what the venue.

While we have time now, take a listen to some of the popular singers of the past.

Engelbert Humperdinck Please Release Me

Tom Jones                                                              Without Love

Ella Fitzgerald                                                        Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered

Patsy Cline                                                              Crazy

Dusty Springfield                                                  You Don't Have to Say You Love Me

Seems songs have a lot of words these days. It would be great if we could understand them.
