PASSIONATE or EMOTIONAL
We have become an emotional society. Singing for the masses is emotional. Singing for the art of singing is passionate. An emotional singer is not connected to the energetic body but rather to the physical body. Singing emotionally requires PHYSICAL EFFORT, singing passionately connects the energetic body and the brain. The BRAIN is in control of the sound, and the mind then adds the language. This coordination -BRAIN, MIND and BODY- results in effortless, passionate singing. In that order.
TELL THE STORY DON'T SELL THE STORY
Contemporary singing is manipulated. As our culture now believes that the singer is entitled to control Nature, this belief has robbed the singer and the listener of a free sound. Resonance is not a free sound. The singer is trying to convince the listener that he has a beautiful voice, but if the words are not connected to the sound they have NO MEANING.
Our culture wants personalities. If the personality blocks the intention of the music we have an emotional performer. The passionate singer is totally free of the physical body and, obeying the laws of Nature, he allows the body to do the work. Otherwise the body is working hard to sell the story. This hinders the beauty the composer wrote into the music.
THE ICING WITHOUT THE CAKE IS PERSONALITY
PERSONALITIES ARE EMOTIONAL
MASTERS ARE DETACHED AND PASSIONATE
