INDIFFERENCE TO RESTS

Rests.png

"Silence is the greatest effect in music."

W. A. Mozart

"Very often the effect of the rest is even greater than that of the notes."

Rosina Lhévinne

Rests have a very powerful dramatic effect. It is in the rests that the singer takes time to prepare the mind not to jump ahead. The audience feels the relaxation of the singer's body and they too relax. Bring the audience to you. Relax the body and the mind. The music then appears and communicates to the audience

THE RESTS SPEAK

As we rush ahead in this chaotic world, we just remind ourselves that only in the silence do we have true power. Remember to relax and get in touch with your natural body. Forcing the body to push ahead does not produce the result you are working so hard to create. The voice will reveal itself in the silence. That is power. The power of your true self.

SILENCE IS GOLDEN
