A SINKING FEELING
Even though we may be privileged to have a dishwasher in our home - we also have a kitchen sink. The drain is in the back of the sink. The body has a wind pipe behind our larynx and tongue. When we relax the tongue and don't use the larynx, the air drains deeply into the diaphragm. This is a complete breath to be used at our disposal. The brain knows how much air to use. Don't push air up the windpipe!
We don't like this sinking feeling. It means we are out of control. When we do not allow the body to do the work we will start controlling the air. Controlling and in control are diametrically opposed. We CONTROL with the mind. We are IN CONTROL with the brain. Drink in the sound. The stopper is now out of the sink, the sound riding on the air.
The vocal cords are located in the windpipe. The air is vacuumed away by a movement from the diaphragm, causing the vocal cords to close and vibrate. An open throat results. Only the movement of air away will open the throat. The vocal cords now vibrate naturally in the windpipe. This is squillo.
HERE WE GO DOWN THE DRAIN
